Grow Chinese botanicals for beautiful and medicinal edibles, with a focus on herbs that grow well here in the bay area. 

 

Peg Schafer’s main endeavor is the 20 yr old Chinese Medicinal Herb Farm just West of Petaluma. Primarily an educational and research farm where more than 260 different Asian herb crops have been trialed. Herb quality, ecological cultivation practices, conservation and other issues affecting the herb trade are of primary interest. Peg is the author of The Chinese Medicinal Herb Farm A Cultivator’s Guide to Small-Scale Organic Herb Production published by Chelsea Green.
